Buying guide: Valves & Regulators

This range covers Kia, Mazda, Nissan and Volvo applications.

A valve that sticks open or shut changes how a system behaves without necessarily setting a code. A purge valve stuck open makes idle rough and can trigger a fuel trim fault; a heater control valve that will not close leaves the heater blowing hot with the dial set cold. Because these parts are small and inexpensive, they are often the last thing checked and the first thing at fault.

Look for a rough or hunting idle, a check engine light with an EVAP or fuel trim code, coolant temperature that will not stabilise, or a heater that cannot be shut off. Test the valve with a vacuum pump or a scan tool before replacing it, since the wiring fault can look identical.

Each listing names the model years, engine and drivetrain the valve was catalogued for, with the OEM part number. Confirm the number against the original part, as several valves on the same engine look alike but flow differently.
